On our way down, we will visit Santa Teresa, a neighbourhood filled with colonial buildings and rich history. Apart from Its original architecture, there are some authentic shops from local artists and is also possible to taste the Brazilian cheese balls and the Açai berry juice.

Selarón steps

Going down from Santa Teresa we will visit the most beautiful stairs in Rio, a stunning piece of art made by the Chilean plastic artist that came to live in Brazil around 1990 called Jorge Selarón. During 20 years he collected tiles from all over the world and in 2013 ended up leaving for us a jewel that became one of the most visited places in the city.

At the Cathedral, we will leave the car behind and start a walking tour around the old town. We will be visiting the SAARA market, the old Cathedral, the Portuguese literature library, the stunning Colombo Caffé, and more. In the middle of the historical buildings there is the downtown, where most of the people work. This part of the tour will help you to understand the Carioca´s daily routine.

Sugar Loaf

Now it is time to get back to the car and drive through the Flamengo land-filled park to our last attraction, there we will take the most famous cable car up to the Sugar Loaf.

The ride up to Urca mountain and Sugar Loaf is breathtaking and the view is just unforgettable.

We will give you lots of suggestions for the ideal restaurant.
